I have been following the PVP dialogue for some time. It seems that
it is better than Indigo Laser except in one area: retrograde
ejaculation, which is about 30% for PVP and about zero for Indigo.
Also, Indigo does not destroy the urethra, while I think PVP basically
evaporates it away; and Indigo has about zero other complications
except wearing the catheter.
Any comments out there?
I have a 117 volume prostate, had 6 negative biopsies, I've been on
10mg hytrin daily for past 6 years....so I'm due soon for some
procedure.

Not sure where you got the 0% retrograde from ILC but I've seen statements
on BPH sites that indicate it's more like 40%.

It behooves you to let your surgeon know that you are do not want retrograde
ejaculation. Some people do not care or might even prefer it. Dr. Lin told
me that he was careful to leave the muscle tissue at the opening to my
bladder intact reducing the odds that I will suffer retro. I think the
skill of the surgeon can sway the odds a lot. I will not know if I have it
or not, for another nine days. Not that I'm counting the days .<grin> Dr.
Lin told me that if I do get retro, it will reverse it's self in time.

PVP anytime thanks .........told that Indigo laser rests entirely with the
skill of the surgeon and the minutest error could be horrendous
PVP 14 days ago for 70 cc middle lobe and ALL systems tested and running
just fine ........only wish i had not spent last 6 months on the lousy drugs
which did no good at all
