Had my three month PVP post-op check-up today.  Actually it has only
been 9 weeks and 4 days.  I still have retro, but other that that, I'm
a happy customer.  The possibility of retro going in was 50/50,
because of a very large medial lobe up into the neck of the bladder
and somewhat beyond.  Since I'm 73 I was not concerned about retro.
All I wanted was no incontinence or being impotent.  I don't have
either of them.

The flow numbers with a full bladder are as follows:

                      Pre-op           1 month              3 months
Total volume     126 ml             238 ml                293 ml
Q max             6.9 ml/sec       17 ml/sec             22 ml/sec
Avg. flow         2.7 ml/sec       10 ml/sec             15 ml/sec
Bladder retention   66%              33%                     11%

The doc is happy with the numbers, as am I, will do a 6 month check-up
with a TRUS for prostate size and a cystoscopy if I still have the
retro.  He still thinks the retro may correct itself in the next three
months.  If it doesn't, I may pass on the cystoscopy since it doesn't
bother me and my wife enjoys it, no mess for her.

Those are very impressive figures, Jack.  Bet you're happy.

Were you bothered by urinary frequency before having your PVP
procedure?  If so, what's it like now?
