I have heard that Mayo Clinic is doing PVP's. Does anyone have any first
hand experience with them.

Tony,

Mayo Clinic has been doing PVP for over 7 years.  That's is where it all
started.  It was the research of Dr. Malek many years ago that provided the
breakthroughs that eventually lead to the 80 watt Laserscope PVP.

I was at Mayo in Minnesota about two months ago.  It is an amazing
institution with talented staff.  The procedure itself went well.  Results
continue to ebb and flow.  I'd say I fall somewhere between Partick and
Marcus.  I'll post more later.

Dennis,
Anxiously awaiting your future posts. Hope your progress continues to

Patrick,
Thanks for the info. I didn't realize that Mayo was that experienced in the
proceedure.
Also, I noticed that Dr. Malek is not listed in the Urology department any
longer.

I beleieve Dr. Malek retired from Mayo and may now be working for
Laserscope.  Dr T. Wilson was the uro of record for my PVP but Mayo does
lots of teaching and I don't actually know who was at  the controls.
