I have a TUNA scheduled for Thursday. I have not planned to take Friday off
work. (desk job) I have a fairly active weekend planned wihich includes a
round trip in my truck of 3 hours each way to deliver a load of furniture to
a mountain cabin. I also plan to do some work on the cabin while there,
wihch includes running electrical and gas lines in the crawlspace.
So, my question to those who have had this done...."Does this sound
reasonable?"

Forget it. Even with a PVP you are told not to lift anything over 10
lbs for 2 to 3 weeks. With a TUNA there is a good chance you will
have a catheter for 3 to 5 days. I would not advise crawling around
with a catheter, specially in a confined space.

I, for one, would appreciate hearing more experiences like this. I seem to
remember that someone had a PVP, then resumed jogging. Another played
tennis. Others seem to have driven home the same day. How realistic is
this? Or have I got my wires crossed again?
I realize that a general anaesthetic will usually require some care for the
following 48 hours, but what about lifting, physical exercise, etc?

You are totally crazy to even contemplate that scenario .....any prostate op
is still an op and other than PVP has a high chance of serious bleeding
never mind the catheter and poss infection problems
I would still say have PVP ......move heaven and earth to have that rather
than TUNA .......I am day 10 after PVP positively no problems .......did not
even need a catheter ,,,,,,,no bleeding other than odd drop at start of
urination .......I am careful to do as I am told ref lifting etc ......but
otherwise i lead a normal life .....no pain ....strong stream from day 1
......its great

Thanks, I've cancelled my plans for the weekend and will just take it easy.
My doctor says TUNA, never mentioned PVP.
