Flomax only marginally improved my flow after 8 weeks on it.  Does
this mean it just doesn't work for me or does it mean I have a certain
feature to bph (eg large median lobe)??

As usual after 10 minutes, I've still got questions, Uro gets up and
holds the door open to show me out ready for the next punter (and  his
fee!!)

Any answer you get here is just a guess.  Only your uro can answer and he's
probably guessing too although he may have more information on which to base
his guess.  It didn't work for me either.

The arrogant uro I dismissed said Flomax and the other drugs do not work on
median lobe enlargements he wanted to do an immediate TURP on me
I rejected this in favour of PVP and I do not regret one second of my
decision
Only wish PVP had been available 6 months sooner so I could have avoided 6
lousy months going nowhere on Flomax etc

Nambucca,

Did you turn out to have a median lobe enlargement? Interesting to
know what your symptoms were??

Where abouts in the UK are you I'm in High Wycombe.

I was told that Flomax can take up to six months to give it's full effect.

Most of the studies I've seen (Flomax v. placebo) show about 75% of the
improvement in the first 4 weeks then gradually increasing to max
effectiveness in about 3 months.  It's doubtful he'll see much too much more
improvement after 8 weeks.  Here's a link.
