6 months after PVP I have a good stream, take no medication, and have no
pain. Urgency has diminished but not completely. Frequency is still a
problem. I get up three times at night, and during the day can never last
more then two hours without the need to go. However, this is a great
improvement over my condition before the operation. I still expect further
improvement with time.

I would be interested in how much you void and how fast you do it. Do you
find that your volume per "go" changes with the time of day or night?

I had my PVP on Jan 22 2004. I am in good shape as far as stream. Getting
started and like a garden hose thereafter. I was getting up every one half
to one hour. Very sleep deprived. My uro put me on Detrol. For me it makes a
substatial difference. Getting up a couple times a night. Sleeping about 3
and a half hours at a time. Also the urgency is much improved. Detrol seems
to be an amazing drug for me. If you continue to have the frequency problem
you might ask your uro for a sample. My uro says that I won't have to take
it forever.

I am not a drug pusher 8->

How long before you noticed an effect from the Detrol.  I had a complete
urological exam last week and my guy concluded that BPH is not my problem.
My prostate was only 20 g (although I have a slight median lobe enlargement)
according to the TRUS and my retention was 0.  He gave me a months supply of
Detrol.  I have taken 7 and don't see any real difference (I was getting up
once per night and still am).  Daytime frequency is my problem.  No relief
yet.  He said I should see some effect in about 5 days.

Do you have a decent flow?  Still good after the Detrol? Thanks, Jim W.

Detrol hasn't affected my flow.  It's OK (though it wouldn't put out any
fires) if I don't wait too long.  If I do, it just dribbles out, probably
due to my median lobe which acts as a "stopper."  My flow test at the uro
was poor because the nurse had me give a specimen when I got there and 45
min later I didn't have much left (not to mentioned the trauma caused by the
cystoscope exam!)

I did not have a terribly large prostate. I had an obstruction caused by a
burn from TUMT. I had PVP mainly to remove scar tissue.

Yes the PVP worked wonders for the flow and it was not effected by the
Detrol.

Hi

I noted a remarkable effect when I took the first pill. IMO if it hasn't
worked by now it probably won't. It is for bladder spasms or overactive
bladder. My uro gave me two weeks worth in samples and said to get a script
if it helped by then. I have asked for the script as it is the best thing
since sliced bread for me.

Best of luck to you and all,

Burr
