TUIP: recovery time ?

I had a TUIP nine days ago; a rather unpleasant, but not intolerable experience. I would like to speak with others who have had this procedues, to compare notes on healing times, bleeding, etc.
I am still passing some blood, particularly in the morning. There is also a considerable amount of pain after I pass urine..my uro is next to impossible to track down, as he seems to be in surgery every time I call.

Bob, I had two TUIP's 98 and 00.  The pain while urinating went away in a
day or two.  I used vicodin for a few days.  There was blood in my urine for
about six weeks.  I was told not to do heavy work for about six weeks. I was
able to urinate normally in about a week.  Ease of urination improved
greatly, also frequency of urination improved, but eventually the problems
returned and I needed another TUIP.  Again I need another operation, but I'm
waiting for a doctor in my locality to start doing PVP's. I had just a small

TURP  vs PROSTATITIS

I have read in the prostatitis newgroup that a TURP  fouls up the prostate
drainage and makes it more susceptible to prostatitis

So why bother with the destructive surgury that is TURP with all its
attendant possibilities of side effects and dangers when you could have PVP
and recover fast plus way way less risk of problems
