As of today, my urine is beginning to look more like urine instead of
the pink lemonade of the past week. I have never had any stinging,
burning, or discomfort--only a sensation that feels like a mild orgasm.
Under the circumstances, I consider this a bonus.

As others have reported to this NG, I have yet to bring the bladder--or
is it the mind?--under satisfactory control. By that I mean the last
two or three steps toward the toilet can become desperate--several
times, I've lost it right there. Haven't been able to accumulate more
than 200 cc during the day before voiding, and most frequently only
about 50 cc--as when I don't wait until I have a strong urge. I'm
trying to prolong the time between visits to the can but haven't done
better than two-and-a-half hours yet. At nighttime I use a bedside
urinal, so I don't have to get out of bed; my overnight (usually at
least nine hours) accumulation has ranged from 2550 cc to 1850 cc; the
frequency varies from hourly to every two or three hours. The flow is
full, and my bladder empties. Before the PVP I had a similar pattern,
except I got no rest. Now I sleep well and feel rested in the morning.
Nevertheless, I wish to reduce the frequency.

The goal is to have a full bladder and to be able to hold it for a
reasonable time. When I can do that, I will be returning to the doctor
for "clearance."

To what extent is bladder control a physchological matter? Is it merely
a matter of time? I'm using the Kegel exercises. Is there anything else
that helps?

Hope to hear from someone who has been here.

What is the Kegel exercise?
