i developed bad allergies but also have enlarged
prostate. i need to take antihistamines and im scared
that the prostate will cut off my ability to void.
anyone has any experience with this type problem?
does it depend on the person, or is it a certainty that
  antihist. will stop your flow?
 thanks everyone.

It did me once, before I knew better. My MD never mentioned it.
Now I read the warnings on the package before taking OTC drugs.

I use NasalCrom spray and saline nose drops now.

Yes, antihistamines do make it more difficult to void.

Difficulty voiding? Yes!
But, For how long after quitting AH? Is the condition permanent? No!

Hi,

I take Clarinex and use either Nasacort-AQ or Nasonex nasal inhaler. No
problem.  I tried Zyrtec but prefer Clarinex. Claritin ( regular , not
Claritin-D) is fine too but I have perscription insurance so I get Clarinex.
I break them in half and take 1/2 at night and 1/2 in AM

YMMV
