I had my PVP done on 11/7/03 and reported on my experiences about two weeks
ago. On 12/5/03 I was prescribed a course of Cipro for a mild infection in
the bladder, symptoms of which were reduced flow and burning.

On 12/13 just after completion of the Cipro course, I noticed increased
stream but not to the level I was expecting. In fact, I said at that time I
didn't feel there was much improvement over pre-PVP.  On the 13th I
developed a symptom where the stream would start out very strong the
suddenly shut down. I also passed large clumps of soft matter.  I felt I had
stuff floating around in the bladder which would block the urinary canal.

In a conversation with the Dr.'s office today I was told this was normal,
the 'burnt' material being sloughed off and being flushed.  Prior to this
time I was not advised such a thing would happen (it wasn't described like
it happened, in any event).  A few hours later I passed two more large, soft
clumps of matter. Since then, as advised by the Dr's office, my stream has
improved significantly with no more blockage or reduced stream.  I guess the
recovery continues.

So....has anybody else experienced this? I have not seen this discussed on
the forum before.  The matter being flushed was not like clots or maybe this
was clots?? Sure didn't look like it.

Since my post yesterday and the last annotated incident with the passing of
those two large (to me), but soft clumps of matter, it appears that I am now
in very good form.  My stream has improved significantly as of today; very
little/no burning; no urgency; what seems to be good volume also.  PVP + 38
days as of today.
