Nothing new to report at 18 months after PVP.  No BPH symptoms (AUA score
0). Very strong flow (50 ml/sec).  No frequency or urgency, can hold all day
and all night if I want to. No retro or any other side effects. PSA is 1.6,
same as six months ago.  So far results are very durable.

Glad to see others enjoying similar results especially Derry in the UK.

Patrick,

If things progress as they have done so far I am afraid my posts
are going to be very very boring!

I swept out and hosed down four kennels this morning, brought in
a bucket of coal (lifted and tipped the sack -- must be about
35lbs in there), and brought in a few logs for the fire. Went
out this evening to see if there was any water in the pond or
any ducks coming in to feed (no to both). Then had a short walk
back to the Land Rover. Nothing remarkable at all though I did
see a nice covey of Greys patridges (Huns to you guys) and saw
signs of a fox! :) I think I would have got tired quickly if I
had stretched myself but I am determined to take it easy. Next
week I may sit out for a deer or the fox as I am behind on the
cull anyway.

I have come to the conclusion that the slight light headedness
I am experiencing is due to the pain killers I have been
prescribed. Can't think why I have them because I have had no
pain to speak of.

Earlier there were a few dark flakes in my urine, probably scar
tissue as I had similar after the biopsy. The kennel duties were
mildly tiring and I did worry a bit about the coal lifting
afterwards but everything is OK. I don't intend to do anything
that will be a strain.

I'll report back after the check ups.

You don't consider this straining --- scary!!!

I wish I was in half the physical shape you are!!

BTW -- how soon can one do treadmill exercise after PVP???

Where will you get the check ups ? Inverness or London?
Derek.

That is yet to be revealed. I'd guess that Muir will want to see
me one more time at least. He seems very thorough. I am now
getting the hang of these London round trips and may try to do
it without an over night stop, possibly using the Sleeper.

As Mike Degun was at Kings, do you think that your procedure was being used
to show off the equipment to prospective users?
Derek.

Not unless they video taped it. As far as I know, only Muir,
Cutting, and Degun attended (apart from the usual nurses and
anaesthetist).

When I went down for the initial interview, Muir asked if I'd
mind some students attending the operation, adding that "King's
is a teaching hospital, after all". I said I'd no objections but
so far as I am aware, this did not happen. At 75 grams I doubt
that I'd have been a very interesting case anyway.

Mike Degun seems to get around. He said he was just off to visit
several EU countries. I think Belgium and Germany are on the
list. I know he was recently in the Far East. He's a very
likeable guy and very switched on.

No film rights in it for you then:-)
Derek.

No, but maybe I'll make something on the journalism... :)

Today I was scouring the countryside for Land Rover bits so I
can patch up and sell the spare one! Must have done over 200
miles and I still feel 100% fit. I've given up on the pain
killers -- not needed.
