I had a TURP 3 years ago and a PVP 19 days ago.

I learned the hard way that even if there is no blood or pain at the end of
the first week, don't lift heavy things, run, sit for long periods or have
sex.

I broke the rules after the first week and now have blood in the urine. It
is getting better, but very slowly. I'll be out of action for 5-6 weeks
rather than for just 3, because I rushed thing.

Yup thats the downside of PVP if you can call it that ........you feel so
well and so good that you are tempted to forget you have had a major op and
YOU MUST be careful not to lift weights or push lawn mowers etc for the full
3 weeks

If you take it easy you can have a virtually bloodless free recovery after
PVP and really enjoy the benefits of this new age medicine

By ignoring the warnings you have put yourself in the same state as having a
TURP the very thing you wanted to avoid
