I've been on Proscar for several years now and it's done all it's going
to do, apparently.  It's worked in that my prostate is now smaller than
it was but it's not reduced in size enough to matter so, the question
is, what could I expect if I stop taking it?

I'll be seeing my uro soon but I wonder if anyone here has some
information?

My Uro took me off of Proscar just last week to see if it would help my ED.I
had great success using it,no more prostate trouble. As of right now I don't
know the final result as it has only been a week.I will update as time goes
on.

Thanks.  The only bad thing I've heard about is the prostate will start
growing again if Proscar is stopped but that should take years before
you'd see any effect, maybe?

My Uro took me off Proscar after I had been on it for slightly over 2
years. He said he had information that if you stay on it too long you
start losing bone density and this can lead to osteoporosis. He warned
me that my prostate would probably start growing again, and it did. I
now have the choice of going back on Proscar or having TURP (they don't
have PVP in Canaada and at this point they probably won't for a
considerable time).

Thanks, that's exactly what I needed to know.  Now my question is how
long did it take for your prostate to start growing again (enough for
you to notice more symptoms) after you stopped the Proscar?
