The current American Prostate Society update states that Avodart reduces the
size of the prostate significantly. I am considering taking Avodart in the
hope of avoiding any more drastic procedure. Are there any NG members out
there who have had any experience with this drug? Thanks to all.

I have been taking Avodart for 2 weeks but don't expect any benefit for
several months so I am supplementing it with Flomax. Slightly worried about
the long term effects of Avodart if there is a correlation with the
increased risk of Prostate Cancer that was observed with a survey carried
out in 1998 with Proscar patients.
