Frank,
What do you classify as limited physical activity? I can't
really imagine a day when I wouldn't be doing something
physical!
Of course, my PVP is scheduled for the middle of the shooting
season (3rd December). The woodcock have just arrived on
migration and there is snow on the hills which should push them
down to my ground. This is a big thing around here and the ideal
conditions only coincide every few years.
And they say there are no adverse side effects to a PVP... :(

No lifting objects over 10 lbs.(4.5kg), or walking faster than a
normal pace 3 to 4 mph (5.6 or so kmph) no sexual activity, aerobic
exercise, climbing hills, those sorts of activites. Or anything that
might cause bleeding in the prostate while it is healing.

Jack, did your Doctor tell you this before hand or did you discover
this on your own?
My Doctor told me that after the catheter was removed, that I could go
back to what ever I did before the procedure......NOT!

He told me in post op about an hour after the PVP whnn he came to see
how I was doing. As I recall his words about the bleeding were more
like, your prostate will take at least 3 weeks to heal so don't do
anything for three weeks that will aggravate it, like and then he
named a bunch of things, most of which I mentioned above. I remember
one of them was long car or plane trips. If I had to, on a plane be
sure to walk up and down the asile of the plane or lay down in the
back seat of a car and stop every two hours and walk. He also said if
I "goofed up" and did something to cause the bleeding to be more than
just pink color in the urine, to be sure and rest or lay in bed for
part of the next couple days.

I suppose that is sensible though I am going to find it
difficult to comply. Rules out about everything I normally do as
a matter of course!

Derry if you fail to follow the advice and the rules you will be the one who
suffers for it
Take it easy mate ........3 weeks being very careful in what you do is truly
much better than weeks of bleeding or needing to be back in hospital with a
major problem

Derry, I answered your question yesterday but it did not get posted.
I recommend that you do not jogg, ride a bike(seat too close to the
prostate), walk too fast, golf, pick up heavy objects, have sex.
My doctor told me that bleeding was a non-issue...easy for him to say!
Frank
Wonderful! What was your frequency and volume pre-op? Jim W.

In terms of activity, I think it is indivual. I started jogging after the 11th
day and have had no bleeding. The bleeding stopped the 10th day. After 4
weeks I do have minor discomfort during the start and end of a voiding period.
