Laser treatment at Brighton (UK)?

I asked my GP to try to get me a referral to King's for laser treatment. He
contacted my Consultant locally (with whom I was due to have a TURP very
shortly) and he agreed a referal to Brighton. I can find no info on the
procedure being carried out there. Anyone know anything about this? If it is
actually done there, is it the same PVP treatment as at King's? I understand
that they have the procedure at nearby Haywards Heath -- but that's not part
of Brighton's hospital area is it?

TIA,
Harold

Harold,

I suggest you email Mike Degun, UK sales manager of Laserscope,
at mdegun@laserscope.co.uk. I do know he is extremely busy so
you may not get an immediate reply -- but you will get a reply!

Thanks for this -- and to other posters.  It appears that the Princess Royal is
used for patients from both Brighton and Haywards Heath.  They are now one
Trust.

He probably meant HOVE, next door to Brighton. Although the Ashdown
Nuffield Hospital (not Princess Royal, as reported earlier) at
Haywards Heath is where the PVP procedures are done by the urologist
surgeon Tim Larner, he conducts his consultations at the Hove Nuffield
Hospital.

There are 2 machines at Haywards Heath - one at the Nuffield used by Tim
Larner and one at the Princess Royal used by Mr Jan Nawrocki. They do work
together and by the end of October had done 90 treatments between them
having started in the spring of this year (2003).
I saw Mr Nawrocki at the end of October for a first appointment under the
NHS and have my treatment scheduled for the 8th Jan 2004.
