Problems with Flying?

I've not flown anywhere since my BPH problem has started. I
occasionally hear that folks have a real problem with the pressurized
cabin flaring up the prostate.

I'm about to take an 8 hour flight to England...what will I be facing?

Help? What to do? Drink a lot, drink a little? Avoid the standard
things, salts, etc.

Any advice would help. I'd hate to be uncomfortable for the entire
trip.

Will,

Before my PVP, long international flights were a big problem for me.  I
would get up to go the the bathroom several times per hour.   On a long
flight to Europe of Japan this would really be a problem as you have to
drink to stay hydrated and then I couldn't empty completely because of BPH.
It was a real struggle.

The good news is that after my PVP, I have made two trips to Japan.  On both
flights I only got a up a few times.  I was able to sleep and drink as much
as I wanted and I felt fine.

My frequency while flying is no different than while on the ground, about
every 1.5-2 hrs.  I always sit on an aisle and try not to drink too much
liquid.

Flying was a problem for me. I had increased urgency and could not void
well. Drinking a lot or little did not affect the urgency feeling, so I
drank a lot( water only) for hydration purposes. I also took one Tylenol
every four hours to relieve the urgency feeling. This was quite effective.
Later, I got Flowmax which helped a lot for one year. Then I had PVP done
and BPH misery became history.

Good luck.
