There has been very little said here about PVP lately although i PVP was
once the rage. I am scheduled to undergo one in just about a week.

I have had three failed TUMT treatments. Any last minute advice?

Having worked with lasers, I think it is a good idea to use green. I
believe that YAG:Nd lasers are used as the primary source and that KTP
is the frequency doubler. There is also some indication that fiber laser
may be used. There is no indication that diode pumping is used. I would
also like to know what the output waveform is like. Can someone point me
to such details?

I also failed the TUMT procedure on a 35 gm prostate  and six months
later had the green light pvp (PVP 201 weeks ago).  I was sent home
without a catheter but was given a catheterization kit and had to self
catheterize x3  for the first 24 hrs.  No big deal on that.  My biggest
disappointment was that I was told going into the procedure there was
20% chance of retro; but because he made a single cut in the bladder
neck, I have had 100% retro.  The quality of the orgasm/ejaculation IMHO
was a real setback. You live with it best you can.  Some men say retro
is no big deal, but I really miss the feeling of the pumping of the
ejaculation that occurred before the retro.    My biggest problem after
the procedure was the lower belly pain because I was not warned of the
problems in getting the GI system back on  line after the major
anesthesia.  Make sure you get on an early program of colace or MOM and
PJ.  I believe the Pyridium helped the discomfort in a big way.  Be
happy to answer any questions.  I had Prostatron TUMT.  Curious what
TUMT procedure you had.

In my case, I found out after the PVP that I had trabeculation of the
bladder and possibly overactive bladder.  My nighttime interruptions
remain 2-3x per night.  I am 65 yrs old.  My 75 yr old brother had an
open prostatectomy a couple of years ago and he also reports getting up
about every 2 hrs after his procedure.
