BPH and CA how likely to have both?

Hi all,

A couple o' questions:

1) How likely is it to have both BPH and CA at the same time.
I know that it's possible, but I dont  know anyone
who has actually had this.  Does anyone in the group have
any acutal personal knowledge of this happening?

2) Multiple biopsies.  Is there really any point to this with
BPH? If you have a negative biopsy and an enlarged prostate,
does a second or third biopsy actually tell you anything.
Ive seen several different studies, some say yes, some
  say no.

Again, does anyone have any personal knowledge of subsequent
  biopsies actually finding anything?

I know PCA is a concern, but Im also somewhat concerned about
poking the thing full of holes. That cant be good for it,
I dont care what they say.

                                          TIA

It is very possible to have both and the cancer would hopefully soon be
found by a biopsy. I guess people who have PCA graduate to another NG.
I had a large prostate, it went from 35 grams to 75 grams over a ten year
period. My PSA in that time went from 5.2 to 9.6. I had two negative
biopsies during that time. I seems that big prostate = high PSA. After my
PVP in July 2006 my PSA went to about 6.2. It is said that PSA goes down by
about 30% after PVP. It has gone down a bit more since and was 5.6 in April.
Derek.
