Is it normal for the HOLEP procedure to be followed by the insertion
of a pubic catheter which will be in place following my discharge from
hospital. I currently have a foley catheter inserted and believed that
I would be leaving hospital without any catheter. Can I refuse this
secondary catheterisation and yet still go ahead with the HOLEP?

HOLEP is rather old hat. Is PVP not available in your area? I turned down
HOLEP and waited till I could get a PVP.
Derek.
