An interesting article can be found on Medscape Week in Review site
written by Dr F Gomez Sancha, et al. titled Photo Selective Vaporization
of the Prostate (GreenLight PV): Lessons Learnt After 3500 Procedures.
To see the article you can google Medscape Week in Review and you need
to register to see the article.  Registration is free.  Interesting to
see Dr Sancha's article--Dr Sancha had contributed to this newsgroup in
past years.

Then go to Urology section in the left column...and then you will
finally get to the article by Dr Sancha.  Sorry for the confusion in
getting to the right URL.  Not an easy one to get to...

Found it!

Would be nice to see the outcome of 3500 cases...and let's hope the
operators have had a lot of practice before they do you and me......

My uro told me that the procedure was "favoured in NZ and the UK but not
in Australia" because:

1. The equipment was very expensive

2. Servicing was difficult

[and disturbingly illogically]

3.  The population in Australia [about ten times NZ] didn't justify the
above???"

Lost a bit of faith at that stage.

I wonder how many prostates are lurking on the net just waiting to be
harvested in an anecdotal clinical survey??

Must be the best and biggest source in the world.
