I am not sure if you are saying this urge to pee is a good thing or a
bad thing. Do you pee normally when the urge hits? Then it is good. If
you are peeing, then there was urine and it's good to get rid of it.
No, I have not experienced this, and can't imagine a reason.

Ed,
It's bad because it disrupts my sleep. I go to the bathroom and then
return to sleep for maybe another two hours. Usually the pee passes
easily, especially since I started on Flomax a month ago. But sometimes,
especially around 4-5a.m., the start of the flow is sluggish.

Hi, Ray.
It's common for BPH symptoms to be worse at night. If it is bothersome
enough for you, and if you and your uro have exhausted the med option
(drugs, I mean), then you should consider surgery.

I find I get an increased urge to pee when I lie on my back.
