Are there any Canadians on this ng who have gone to the U.S. for a
PVP?
If so, I would be interested in some details... like which uro in the
U.S.,costs and whether any of the costs could be claimed on Canadian
health plans, hotel costs and length of stay, and protecting one's
finances against unexpected outcomes (could be a charge of $100,000+
if you end up in ICU).
I'm thinking about going to the U.S. because I have a large prostate
that is difficult to treat by TURP, and because Canadian PVP
practitioners don't seem to be able to do large prostates. So, any
info would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. Did you have a PVP there?
I'm thinking now it's probably too expensive and logistically too
difficult to have treatment in the U.S. Probably I will have a TURP
here in Canada instead.
PVP probably has less side effects and quicker recovery than TURP, but
they say PVP usually is not the method of choice for large prostates.
Also, complications/morbidity for TURP have been improving over the
decades and look pretty good now.
