The new upgrade to PVP " the HPS Laser". Is it as aggressive a surgery as
Turp? By that I mean does it take out as much tissue as Turp? Has anyone in
the group had surgery with this new Laser? Dean,

Dean...I don't think it has anything to do with the "power" of the method as
to how much total tissue "can" be removed. IMO power relates to "speed of
tissue removal" not total amount of tissue that can be removed (by taking
more passes for example). The new more powerful HPS laser (higher voltages,
or whatever) would allow the surgeon to perform the PVP faster, I believe.
I have only had TUIP and TURP, so I can't speak from experience, but I have
certainly learned a lot about PVP's from the participants in this group, and
from Dr. Sancha.
If you mean does it remove as much tissue as TURP in a given amount of time,
I haven't a clue, and someone like Dr. Sancha would have to answer that.
I will stand corrected if anything I just said was wrong...Pete :-)

That is exactely what I meant. Can you expect the same amount of tissue
removal as turp in a given amount of time. I was in a hurry and I didn't
state it very good. Thanks Pete. Dean,
