Hi Folks,

Has anyone had a prostate massage performed on them before?  I'd like
to hear if you've benefited from it.  For me, I had a urologist a few
years ago who did it so hard, I was screaming, and none of the fluid
that was trapped came out.  I since went on to do a gentle form of it
on myself, and that worked.  So I do it from time to time, but I see
ads sometimes from women who do prostate massages.  I don't see much
info on the web or in groups about if this worked, or was just a
prelude to having sex with them.

I've also seen *toys* by a company named Aneros, where you insert it
in the rectum, and one part is on the perineum, and you rock back and
forth.  I know the pleasure that that can produce, but the cost of
that is pretty expensive (about $70).  Wonder if it's worth it?  I
guess my objective is to combine a health benefit (reduced pressure in
the prostate - I've started taking Avodart and Flomax, btw) with
pleasant sensations, and not go broke or get ripped off in the
process.

I really would appreciate any thoughtful comments on this topic.
Thanks!

Hi:
I have done prostate massage on myself several times. The last
time it really helped.  My urination improved.
Starting last year, I am 58 now, I have tried to improve what has
been a slow problem that developed over 10 years. First I drank more
water. Second I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with enlarged
prostate. Third I had acupuncture and fourth went to a naturopath.
From there I started a a new diet. Basically, I cut out sugar, and
diary products. I have been taking saw palmeto, nettle extract, and
pygeum, and flower pollen. Thats been for a year.
Just recently I had a saliva test. My DHT was low as well as my
testosterone. Also Dhea was low. Oestrogen was normal. Am now
starting some herbs to try and normalize hormones to some extent.
Since me last prostate massage there was a big jump towards
the better. I am hoping some marvelous synergy happenned.
I also made myself a squat toilet.
Not being able to pee properly plus experiencing increased
frequency with urgency has been a great driver towards experimenting.
I've appreciated and lurked here on the list for several months
and
wanted to contribute something from my own experience.

thanks,

sw dharmraj
