Had TURP on 5/9. Discharged from hospital 5/11. On that day foley was
removed  in the AM but I only produced a dribble and could not adequately
empty the bladder and a new foley was put in. I have had a catheter in since
5/20.

I am removing the foley myself at 6:30AM tomorrow and seeing the URO at
1:30PM. If I could not urinate on 5/11 what would change that would allow me
to urinate and adequately empty the bladder at that time?

Norm...I assume you meant the second catheter was in place since 5/11.
Ouch!!  Maybe you will be able to void okay when you remove it tomorrow.  I
don't understand why you left the second one in for nine (9) more days -
like I said earlier, three days is the norm, barring problems.  Did you talk
to the uro about it - that sounds like torture to me.  Your surgery may not
have gone as expected.  I hope you are all right when you remove it
tomorrow.  Good luck, and let us know what happens...Pete

Make sure to ask the uro that question, when you see him at 1:30, and let us
know what he said.  Were you getting a lot of clots/debris collecting in the
bag.
