Wayne...
Couple of suggestions. Go to the laserscope web site and enter the
information about your location...

or call them at 1-800-356-7600.

Canada is a bit like a 3rd world country when it comes to the PVP
procedure.
There is a PVP centre in Scarborough. See
http://www.sigmacon.com/greenlight_cua1.html
I visited Dr Baldwin there some years ago but he told me my prostate
was too big for a PVP.
There is (was?) also a centre north of Toronto in Newmarket.

There used to be a PVP clinic in Vancouver but it has closed.
You can also go to the Laserscope site and submit your question there.

Good luck and let us know what you find out.

Third world is right.
I called a local urologist and was told that there are no PVP's performed in
Ottawa. They said they 'thought' there might be a site in Toronto. I'm going
to see what I can stir up here to get the equipment in the hospital, then of
course we will have no trained surgeons. Anyone want to volunteer to be the
first one?
We have an annual motorcycle 'Ride for Dad' every year which raises money
for prostate cancer. maybe they can be provided to donate some of the money
to buying the equipment.

Good luck!
I have mentioned to my uro here in Calgary that the city needs a PVP
machine, but he just shrugs. I don't understand it. He is a good uro,
and could make quite a name for himself here.
Dr. Sancha of Madrid goes all over the world to train doctors on the
PVP. For that matter, Baldwin and Woods of Scarborough could probably
do that too.

And Dr. Sancha pointed out several months ago that in Spain as in most
countries where the government controls medical care, the treatment is
not paid for by their socialized medicine.

Check things out first. Even if the equipment is paid for the government
still has to approve the procedure being done. In Saskatchewan this is the
procedure. They must have doctors willing to train and perform this
procedure as well. We are still waiting here.
