On Januaty 12, 2006, I had a PVP procedure done by Dr. John G. Giannakis of
The Woodlands, Texas. He had promissed that there wouldn't be any side
effects other than retro. Beside the continuous burning sensation, two months
after the procedure, my flow started to become weaker and weaker. He said
that scar tissues were building up and that was normal. He suggested to do a
"MINI-TURP"  to remove them and that would take care of the problem once and
for all. I got suspicious and saw another urologist. After a systoscopy, he
said that the scar tissues need to be removed surgically. On September 5,
2006, I had the "MINI-TURP" done. The flow improved, however, three weeks ago
the flow started to get weaker again. He had told me that there is a 10-15%
chance that scar tissues would build up again because of the lack of blood
flow that caused by the PVP laser. I would like to mention that the burning
sesation never stopped since the PVP procedure back in January. With two
procedures in the same year, I don't know what can be done next. Does anyone
out there know anything about this? I would appreciate any information.

Up to this point, your saga sounds like a repeat of one I had using TUMT. I
went to a urologist who cured my wife's urinary infection. She raved over
him. His torturous approach was to dilators to open up the channel. I
dropped him fast.

So, what have you done about it? Are you still having this problem?

I am helping urologists make a better living! I had another TUMT that proved
to be even less effective than the first. I was ready to bite the bullet to
get a TURP. My uro said that the new water cooled technology for a third
TUMT is worth a shot before going to TURP. Well, it sure was more
uncomfortable than the previous treatments. I cannot say that I see an
improvement after about 6 weeks. If it worked, I should start seeing
improvement soon.

Is there any truth to getting more help from foul tasting medicine compared
to palatable medicine?

Good luck. I hope your condition improve as expected, keep us posted. I
intend to see another uro this week or next.

Hugh
What do you mean your bladder a"playing up a bit"? And if you discussed it
with your uro, what did he say about it?

I see the uro monthly but I know at 75 it is getting smaller and
consequently trying to empty it is a struggle
if a measurement of success could be applied after prostate  surgery 4

with waterworks JUST  however I need more time

Last Thursday, I saw a new uro. He did a cystocopy and told me that I have
scar tissues building again and causing a weak flow. He advised me to do
"Internal Urethrotomy". This procedure intails one or two incisions in the
scar tissues followed by a periodic dilating (initially every week then every
two weeks then every 4 weeks) for the first 6 months then semi annually
thereafter. Also I may have to catheterize myself in between. All this to
keep  my urethra open and prevent scar tissue from building up. At  this time
and after the hell I've been through, I don't know what to do. Does anyone
outthere know anything about this procedure? Please help!
