Had it done last Tuesday by Dr. Laub in Santa Barbara. Must say this is
the best medical experience of my life. He took lots of time with me
and wife at intitial consultation, then again day before surgery.
Showed video of a proceedure he did etc. Next morning checked into
Cottage Hospital and all was extremely well organized, like a well
oiled machine. Proceedure at 7:15 am sharp and woke up in recovery at 9
am. Catheter  out by 9:20, in room at 9:30. First pee took some time
with a little blood. Next one easier. Back to hotel by 1:30. Peed 32
time that day through next morning. No sleep. Scared me that this may
be it forever. But alas, Dr. explained just from the tons of fluids
they pumped in. Next morning left for home, 2 hr drive, and made it
with  urgency the last 20 minutes. Only got up 2 times the second night
and now pee like a race horse and only gt up 2 times at night, down
from up to 8 times. Void it 8-15 seconds vs up to 5 minutes before.

Little mild stinging the first day and a half only. Virtually no pain
or discomfort at all! Took Pyridium and Detrol and Flowmax the first 2
nights, not since. Wow, what a difference. Dr. said he was going to
take out more tissue than ncessary to make this a 20 year deal which
make sense. Don't know abut retro, but h said to take Sudafed before
sex as ths can help with ejaculation. Might try it, but don;t really
care as I have my family and can sleep. Interesting that all the years
with ovr noight urgency always gave me bad dreams, now I'm much more
restfull in my sleep.

Careful the first few times you pee. I have peed on the back of the
seat and tank! Also it comes out immediately which I wasn't ready for
so sometimes it goes up too. Lots of spotting, so try tissue or
feminine pads for a while or blood stained shorts.

done! Found Laub here and for that I am extremely grateful. He's a very
nice and calm guy working in a very relaxed atmosphere. Small office
alone, short wait times.
