I have had five biopsies, last one a year ago. No cancer found. Avodart has reduced many of the symtoms of BPH, i.e., urgency, and frequency during the day. It has not been as successful in improving either frequency or hesitency at night. My PSA has been reduced from a high of 12 to 4 in that one year's time. I haven't noticed any adverse side effects. I don't know if my prostate has been reduced because my uro hasn't taken any measurements yet. I believe that Advodart does, in fact, shrink the prostate and that the dramatic lowering of the PSC is as testimony to that. I haven't noticed any side effects from the Advodart...sex drive still good, no gyno, etc. Frank I have been taking Avodart for 1 year. No side effects, prostate hasn't shrunk according to ultrasound, but flow is better, not much change to urgency/ frequency. Score down form 17-18 to 15-16. |
