PVP+15 days
Similar experience here. For 12 days small stream and full bladder
discomfort constatly. Sleep periods of only one hour. Very disappointing
and debilitating. Felt sure PVP was a failure. Talked to Uro several times
by phone. Instruction, "drinkGallons of water". Adds to more discomfort.
Only about 50 mls per urination. Back to Uro at PVP+10. Reamed with metal
tubes. Gave me the two following medicines. Prosed/ds tab, generic
ATROPINE. Is an antispasmodic, urinary anti-inefective, and analgesic
combination. PLUS. Phenazopyridine ,200mg, used to relieve pain, burning and
other discomfort. Colors urine bright orange.
Begin to have relief. Some may have been due to reaming.
At PVP+16 called Uro and I added my Cardura, 4mg that I had been taking
before PVP. Best nite I had in a long time. Up at two hour intevals rather
than one.
PVP+14 and am flowing at least back to pre PVP and possibly even better.
Most bladder discomfort is gone.
PVP+15. Beginnng to feel that the procedure may in fact not be a failure.
Am encouraged with better flow rate and less badder discomfort. However,
when the urge come immediate action is needed. I was blessed with a
straight 3 hours sleep before having to get up. Have not done that in
years.
Now my watch item is will this continue if I stop the 2 meds described above
plus the Cardura. I will keep this same heading until I see my Uro on
Monday.
Keep us informed.

Out of curiosity, what is your volume now?
I had the opposite problem after TUMT. Twice. I started out with a 400 ml
flow after the catheter came out. It has been going down gradually to about
200 mL. 250 mL deserves a flourish and drumroll. often, it is much less.
