You've not had much luck with your procedure. Do you have a feeling of
needing to urinate ? Are you drinking plenty of water ?
Derek.

hugh,
I am NOT a doctor. It's my GUESS that your prostate gland is blocking the
flow of urine. If you fail to pass any urine for an entire day and night,
that could lead to serious problems. You should call your doctor and let
the doctor know about the problems you are having. Perhaps other members
of this newsgroup know more about what doctors do in these situations.
Does anyone know if a  urethal catheter could be used if the flow of urine
is stopped as a result of prostate related problems?  One doctor that has
a radio show once stated that it was possible to massage the prostate
gland by pressing up on the area located between the anus and the
testicles. When the prostate is massaged while urinating, it causes more
urine to flow more easily. The doctor's name was
Dean Odell (spelling ??) .

Note that he had green light (PVP) in September.  Scar tissue buildup?
Damn, I know his hesitation about having the URO take a look!!

I don't know if you're completely blocked up (acute urniary retention).
I've read that in that condition you should seek emergency treatment
(cathether) within three hours or risk injury to the kidneys.

Yes, retention usually also causes bleeding of the bladder wall after
a couple-few hours, because of the stretching. When they finally
unplug you at emerg, there usually will be blood in the urine. Left
long enough, it can permanently damage the bladder.

Left even longer (days or weeks, I don't know) it causes uremic
poisoning of the body and can kill you. It happened to Thomas
Jefferson. He died of it (on the 4th of July).
