FLOW RATE DECREASING

Had my PVP July 14, and progressed well and had good flow rate
with no retro. For the past 2 or 3 weeks it seems the flow rate is
slowing down about 50% of what is was the first 3 months
after PVP. Haven't talked to URO about it cause I'm sure
he will want to root around with his scope and I wanted to wait and
see how it goes, but this is disappointing. The good effects of PVP
should last a few years at least.

The frequency of urination didn't improve much except at night,
only got up once or twice a night where it was 3 to 4 times before.

Anybody else slipped backwards on progress ?
I am 63 and have 30 gram prostate.

Thanks,
Charley

Hi Charley,

After I had my own PVP just a week before yours, Dr. Laub cautioned me
that there was a small chance I would see a decrease in the flow a few
months after the procedure.  He said that if this in fact happened, it
would be because of scar tissue forming in the urethra, a problem which
is easily corrected.  (Though it will undoubtedly require some of the
"rooting around" you're understandably trying to avoid.)

For the record, I have had no such problem.
