Has anyone on here had or known anyone who was given the "TUNA Therapy"
treatment?? The urologist who is treating a relative for enlarged
prostate uses it. It has nothing to do with eating tuna but the word is
abbreviations for the treatment. If you have had it, would appreciate
knowing if it worked for you. Thanks!

Rather old hat treatment now. Do a Google search on this NG for PVP and look
at
http://www.laserscope.com/
PVP uses a high-energy laser to destroy prostate tissue and seal the treated
area.
Photoselective vaporization of the prostate (PVP).

If you'll search the archives of this group you'll find a great deal of
information on TUNA. The reviews are mixed.
If you're familiar with Google Groups, stop reading here:
To search the archives of any group:
1. Open http://groups.google.com
2. enter the name of the group in the search engine, that would be
sci.med.prostate.bph for this group.
3. Enter your search term (TUNA in your case) and read the related
posts.

It may be helpful to take a look at the American Urological Association
guidelines on the various treatments for bph...
http//www.auanet.org/guidelines
Select Management of BPH (03). Lot's of good comparative information on
the types of intervention, outcomes, etc. Worth wading through if you
are looking for information.
