I am 45 year old male. First suffered with prostatitis 10 years ago.
Since then been diagnosed with BPH. Doctor said had never seen
enlargement in man my age before like I have now.
Up to two weeks ago I had urinary frequency, occassional burning and no
problem with urine stream most times. For the past two weeks been very
uncomfortable at times sitting down.
Urine flow for the most part not as strong as in the past. Also I have
found that I no longer get that urgency feeling to urinate. I still
feel like I have to pee but not as strong as before. No blood I could
see in urine or no sharp pain in back..just uncomfortable.

Frankly I am very concerned and will see urologist Monday am. That was
the soonest I could get in,

In the meantime since I tend to worry about these things I was
wondering if anyone had similar symptoms and could comment.

Thanks

Sal -

Sounds like your prostatitis is back.  BPH usually doesn't cause much
discomfort.  Just frequency weak stream and retention (which still
doesn't usually cause any real discomfort other than contributing to
the frequency).  If you're getting burning and discomfort that's
probably prostatitis or bladder infection.  At least that's my
experience.  Sorry you had to join us.  You're on a long road with an

Thanks I am not a medical doctor but that is what I thought it was
too...I have been diagnosed with BPH for two years and never had this
type of discomfort before except when I had prostatitis years ago. I am
doing what I did back then to relieve it...warm baths, watching what I
eat and trying to avoid certain foods and alcohol. I know it is a long
road ahead and I only wish I had started this journey when I was older!

I have found that small amounts of alcohol actually relax the whole area and
make me feel much better.

It's just TOO much that becomes an irritant.

In fact I told my Uro.. I found that a glass of wine, masturbating and a
warm bath really helped a lot. He looked at me and joked.. "in that order?"

Actually, the answer is yes!
