If nightime frequency of urination is the most bothersome symptom,
before agreeing to treatment has anyone experience of  PVP completely
stopping this problem

At its worst, I was getting up every hour and half.  The TUMT helped to
reduce it to every couple of hours (2-3 times per night) and the PVP
(done 80 weeks ago) further reduced the night time frequency to once per
night.  A considerable improvement but not completely stopping the problem.

After PVP 18 months ago, I NEVER get up at night. Prior, it was 2-4.
Worked for me.

Before PVP, 2 or 3 times at 5 min per time.

Since PVP, 0, unless I really drink a lot shortly before bed, then 1
trip at 15  seconds.

I still get up at least once in the night.  I believe after trying to forece
urine out of a nearly blocked passage, the bladder gets real muscular and
this reduces its volume.  Had a laser Turp on 7/24/06 and so far am very
happy with the results.

Before PVP 2-5 times per night.  After, once during an 8 hour period.  Very
satisfied with the result.

By the way, at my age (60), urologist advised me that, even without any
prostate problems, once per night is about average.  Certain hormones which
help keep us asleep diminish as we age...
