I have an enlarged prostate and chronic protatitis. I'm on Uroxatral
which eases the symptoms somewhat.
I'm normally up  3 times a night minimum taking 5 to 10 minutes each
time to urinate (but with still some retention).
I've found recently that certain types of exercise makes the retention
significantly worse.
Walking a mile is enough to stop me up for a few hours.
Has any one else had a similar problem and have you found any relief?

I had severe/total urine retention for a year...... walking was one of
the things that eventually helped some (simple gravity plus motion).
Is it possible that it is dehydration and not the walking?  But then
again, depeding on the type of ohbstruction you have, I could see
exercise making it worse. I would get urodynamic testing done ....
