I'm interested in finding a NYC urologist, knowledgeable about both bph
and prostate cancer who I might consult for an independent opinion on
directly conflicting opinions that I've gotten. Should be
listener/responder, communicative. Need not be a big name; preferably
not.

How about Te?  It's the smallest name I know!

Sorry--couldn't resist that.  You probably already know of Dr. Te in
N.Y.  Of all the doctors mentioned on this newsgroup, I think he's
probably got the longest list of sparkling recommendations.  But I
believe I've offered this name to you before, so you probably have a
reason for looking for someone else.

Hi Jesse,

I feel a little guilty about my last post.  You asked for help (re
cancer) and I made a silly little joke.

I don't know about New York doctors.  But I do have another
resource for you to check out.  If you're open to an alternative
approach, it will give you a more balanced perspective than you'd get
from your doctor, or from this newsgroup alone.

Whereas Sci.Med.Prostate.Bph is devoted mostly to allopathic or
conventional treatments, Larry Clapp's discussion group focuses on
alternative methods that avoid surgery and medications. I'm very
grateful for it!

The focus there is on prostate cancer, as opposed to bph, but Larry
Clapp sees these two conditions as related to each other.  Larry also
does private telephone coaching sessions.

By no means do I subscribe to everything they say there.  But I do know
that my PSA dropped from 4.99 to 4.48 over the past few months, during
which time I was following many of Larry's guidelines.

I hope this is of some help to you.

Thanks, Bruce, your joke is fine with me. I plan to have a PVP with Dr,
Choi, but need to consult somebody to referee conflicting readings I've
gotten on some tests. There is every reason to think well of Dr. Te,
but his office is pandemonium (unlike Dr. Choi's, which is fine).

So I continue to seek somebody responsive and communicative with whom
to consult in NYC, and welcome any advice. Also, in another posting I
mention Dr. Jaspreet Sandhu of Sloane-Kettering. Does anyone have any
experience with him?

Jesse
