Or it could be caused by an enlarged prostate. My PSA went from 4, which is
as low as it's ever been, to 17 over a period of about 12 years. Finally
had a TURP in 98 and it dropped back to 4 and has remained there since.
Although my uro did a couple of bios during the 12 year period, both
negative, he did not seem to be too concerned. Said an increased PSA was
quite common with an enlarged prostate.

Well, I hope this is the case with me. Had a biopsy last Monday, still
waiting for results. PSA was always around 1.4 for 5 yrs or so, then
recent reading was 5.4. Dr. said DRE felt fine, except for
calcifications, also that I had a 25 chance of Ca based on PSA, age
54, and negative DRE. Have had no symptoms of prostatitis, and
prostate is about 30 cc's.
