Tomorrow I will be having a PVP by Dr Lin for a 67 gram prostage.   He has
done over 200 procedures and tells me he will be able to do it with very
little or no bleeding compared to a Turp with significant bleeding.   I will
spend thje night in the hospital and be released early the next morning.   I
will report on my results to this group.  I am hoping for  a positive outcome
based on the experiences of many writers in this discussion group.

Good Luck,

That is the same size as mine was.  Had PVP in early May.  Went home
feeling like nothing had been done except I was wearing a catheter.  I
removed it the next morning.  I had a little trouble urinating that
night but by the next morning the flow was already back to where it was
before the operation.  Continuous improvement ever since.

I had my 93gm prostate done by Dr. Lin almost three years ago.  I was his
111th. After an overnight stay at the hospital,  I had a recovery time of
about four months.  I wish you well and as much success and satisfaction as I
have had.

Does he have everyone stay overnight in the hospital?  Or perhaps is
that only for the out of town patients?  I was just wondering as it
doesn't seem that most doctors do that.

My wife drove us 62 miles(one way) to get to Dr. Lin and have him do the job.

Mine last month was about 10 miles away.  Got there a little before
10:00 and was home by 2 p.m.

Looking forward to reading your triumphant post PVP success story which I 'm
sure will be chock-full with such words as cascade, torrent, surge,
fountain, gusher and 'five bar gate'.
Best wishes

Thanks...

Would you or the others know if Dr. Lin does aggressive tissue removal
as espoused by Dr. Sancha, or more conservative work like most uros
(apparently)? The former, it seems, leads to better flow results but
greater chance of retro, whereas the latter reduces the chance of
retro but may mean you will need another PVP in a few years.

Dr LIn did my prostate as I said three days ago.  Drove 400 miles to St
Augustine.  Spend the night in the hospital with a "large" catheter.  No
troube with general anestheia without intubation. Catheter was the most
uncomfortable.

Blood and slight pain the next morning after removal of the catheter.  Later
in the day good stream and clearing blood.  Ugency and frequency late that
day and evening.  The stream got weaker.  Not much left in the bladder I
suspect since I was pushing it out every 45 minutes to an hour.

The morning of day two after procedure.  Strong stream, no blood, no pain.
After several good streams about two hours apart, weak stream.

I think I need to learn the differance between a false alarm and a real
signal.   I will try holding out until build up a little resovoir.

Thanks for all the feedback and support on this posting.  And many thanks for
all the good information everyone shared on this discussion forum.   It is
the info on this forum that made decide on PVP, chose Dr. Lin, and go ahead
with the procedure.  Comments on this site let me know that my post op
experience is not uncommon and part of the healing process.  Thanks again to
all you men who have the courage to share your experience.

I  wish this site had spell check.

Dr Lin did a great job.
