The question was asked quite some time ago as to if one could have the
seed therapy after having PVP.

I was in to see my URO today (3 week post PVP) and asked him the question.

He said yes.  Not right away of course.

I f you were referring to my question, it was actually the other way
round:  If one could have a PVP after having seeds. Well, i just had a
PVP yesterday,  11 months after seeds. (They vaporized parts of the
median lobes.) i will not know whether this solved my severe urine
retention for several days (when they take the Foley out), but the
doctors said the operation was as successful as they could possibly
have hoped and they made a nice clean channel.  Interestingly, they did
remove some seeds in the process, but I am not clear exactly how.
(ie.e, whether they had to do so mechanical work as well as just
vaporizing with the Holmium laser.)

Your report sounds good.  We will be waiting to hear how things work out
after the catheter is removed.  Does the Holmium laser really vaporize
like the KTP (Green Light).  I thought perhaps the Holmium might be more
for cutting.  But looking at this site it specifically talks about
vaporization.

I would have to go back and look but I seem to remember someone posting
that Seed could not be done after PVP or TURP.  I can't imagine why it
couldn't.

The other way around I would have said is somewhat different.  I don't
expect there is much left of the prostate after the seed treatment.  I
thought there might be a problem in "blasting" a seed with the laser.
Apparently not a problem either!!

I am getting more and more pleased each day with the results of the PVP.
For the first three weeks the stream seemed to increase but volume
stayed about the same.  Now I think volume is slowly increasing as well.
Still a tiny bit of blood.  I was told to expect it up to six weeks or
more.
