Hi everyone,

I recently received this letter from a friend who has retro from a
PVP.  He gave me permission to pass it along to you.  As you know, I am
contemplating having a PVP, and will probably get retro.  So it's of
great interest to me to learn about others who have this condition, and
how they are dealing with it.  I thought some of you might also find it
interesting.

By the way, I myself have used the device he describes.  I had some
pleasant experiences with it, but did not find it to be a help for my
BPH.  Another friend, though, is convinced that it has helped him
enormously with his prostatitis.

If you try his suggestion, please do let us all know what happens!

Bruce

When my internist first diagnosed the bph about 3 yrs ago, I searched
the internet for possible solutions.  One thing that got my  interest
was the Pro-State massage device advertized on  highisland.com.  I
spent my $49 for the Pro-New model and tried it  for the bph.  I can
not really say that it helped or hindered my  bph.  It may be that I
failed to use it consistently enough.  What  I did find even before the
PVP was that it was quite pleasurable to  have it in place while having
manual sex or sex with my wife.   The  orgasms were greatly intensified
when I used it.  I have continued  to use it occasionally since the
PVP.  What I find is that when it  is in place, it seems to block the
urethra and the semen is  ejaculated in the normal manner.  Maybe not
as much as before the  PVP, but certainly 3-4 contractions with clear
evidence of semen.   I have been reluctant to use it during the time
that I was seeing  the URO for the decreased flow, but now that he has
pretty much  determined the channel is open and clear, I will begin
using it  again for the pleasure that it gives during the ejaculation.

You can find out more information by googling High Island  Health.com.
There is a lot of information there about their  devices.  I can not
truly validate the claims made on the site, but  I can attest to the
retro information that I described above.

I don't know how sexually active you are or whether this kind of
device might be of any assistance to you.  But I thought you might
find the information interesting.  Although there appears to be no  fix
for retro, the device may be helpful in restoring some of the
pleasurable feelings.

I'm surprised by your friend's comments.   He is either exaggerating OR  he
enjoys sticking the device up his butt  OR  he is a very RARE and very
UNUSUAL exception to the PVP procedure that does cause some retro but should
hardly interfere with the quality of orgasms.   He should go talk to his
doctor or, better yet, get scoped by a second urologist to determine if his
problem is physical, emotional, or purely psychological.   I went through a
period of fear, at first,...fearing to even have an orgasm...so at first I
was not really into the intimate moments because I was worried that I might
cause damage to the prostate.   But, boy oh boy, after a few workouts in bed
my fears subsided and the pecker really went to work!!  While I can no
longer knock a beer bottle off the top shelf by ejaculating at it, I do have
mind-bending orgasms.   [Couldn't knock a beer bottle off the shelf before,
either.]   Regardless, orgasms got much better, after a few months post-PVP,
not worse.    Before PVP I was taking Chrysin to top off my orgasm.   PVP
turns out to be a much better substitute than that "herb".   So, I don't
understand your "friend's" problem, but I feel sorry for him being so
encumbered.   Pass my best wishes along to your buddy.   But I'd get it
checked out if I were him.   Life's too short not enjoy this pleasure...and
post-PVP, there is still LOTS OF PLEASURE left to enjoy.  Take it from me.
I've been on both sides of the fence.

[SNIP]    ["Friends' comments]:   [SNIP]   Although there appears to be no

Two points, Bong:
1. I think you may have misunderstood.  My friend doesn't that he has
no pleasure at all without using the device.  He says that, due to
retro, his orgasms are less pleasurable than before his PVP.  Using the
device helps to restore some of the pleasure that has been lost.

2.  I've been noting the comments of guys who have retro on this
newsgroup.  And for you to say that "the PVP procedure does cause some
retro but should
hardly interfere with the quality of orgasms" is an overly optimistic
statement. It's true for some, but not true for others.  Since you only
have "5% retro," as you stated in another thread (correct me if I'm
wrong), it's not surprising that you might underestimate the effect
retro has on others.

Understood....I was feeding off original post, (CAPS are mine for emphasis)
:  "...the device may be helpful in restoring SOME of the pleasurable
feelings..."
