Hello: It sounds like Laserscope is the way to go for BPH. Finding a
urologist who has done the 100 recommended procedures seems like a
formidable task. Getting this information from the office staff over
the phone might be a tough job too. I'd hate to have to make and pay
for an office visit to each prospective urologist, just to get his
track record.

It certainly would be nice if information like this was posted online.
If anyone lives in the South Florida area, and knows a doctor who is
extremely qualified in PVP Green Light, please let me know. Thanks

If they won't answer your questions over the phone, try another uro.
They shouldn't have anything to hide.  I faxed a set of questions to a
couple of uros listed on the Laserscope website, and one of the uros
himself called me back within the hour.  I was shocked!  He answered
all of my questions without hesitation, and I never felt the need to
call anybody else.  He did my PVP two weeks ago, and so far, it's been
great.  I'm like a cow pissin' on a flat rock.

Hmmmm!!  He sounds like another rare good doctor :-) .  But maybe he's just
trying to build up his business.  Anyway it's refreshing to hear that...Pete

I've had BPH for many years. My symptoms are getting to the point that I'm
considering Green light PVP. Any uros recommended in the Tampa-Sarasota area
for this procedure?

Dr Lin, Flagler Hospital, St Augustine, has been favorablly mentioned on
this group many times.  He is among the best in the country.

Al, thank you for keep on contributing to this NG.

Temujin, glad to know that you joined the pvp camp and are doing well.
Please share your uro's name and city with new comers.

Pat,  Dr. Te, NY, patient of 05

Pat,

My uro is Dr. Edmunds, Columbia, SC.  He's done about 40 PVP's, so he's
short of the 100 procedure rule-of-thumb, but I recommend him highly.
He's communicative and believes in aggressive tissue removal, which
seems to lead to more lasting results, according to many posts on this
group.  He told me to ignore claims of 20% retro and just to expect to
have retro.  Oddly, I don't, which makes me worry if he took enough
tissue from the bladder neck to insure long lasting results.  Anyway,
so far, so good.  After three weeks, great stream, little discomfort,
except for some urgency.  I'm off Hytrin, and off the Flonase I had to
take because of the Hytrin.  Peeing like a teenager and reduced meds to
boot.  What's not to like?  Oh, the bill.  More on that later.
