Dear Sir,
I have a chronic prostatitis with only a few symptoms. But always when I
make a trip on my bike (racing) for 20 km - i feel afterwards terrible
unwell during some hours.
I am in a good condition but always thought of hypoglycaemia and so on. Till
yesterday when I realized that the unwell feelings could have been  caused
by the prostatitis. What do you think of that possibility? And what's is the
explanation?

Hi Dick,

Can't help you with your problem, but just to clarify:  You've asked
your question to a newsgroup, which means that you're really not
addressing a doctor or an expert, just a bunch of guys who are trying
to help each other as best they can.  Occasionally a doctor will visit
this group and answer questions here, but that's not the main type of
exchange that happens here.

Also, this newsgroup is mostly about bph, which has to do with enlarged
prostate.  There may be a newsgroup specifically for prostatitis.

There is sci.med.prostate.prostatitis - but there is a real a.shole troll in
there, as I have reported in here before on my post on 2/5/06.  And there
are no experts on prostatitis, especially not in the U.S.A....Pete

I have heard named Avodart which helps to reduce the symptoms of
prostatis . It also reduces the risk of acute urinary retention .You
should consult your doctor about this drug .If you want to satisfy
yourself you can have a look at these sites :
http://www.avodart.com/
http://www.topix.net/drug/avodart
http://www.drugdelivery.ca/s3796-s-AVODART.aspx
but if you have any liver problem you should not take this drug as
this drug interacts with liver disease .

Bruce...why did you write this.  It has nothing to do with what I just
wrote.  Do you sell Avodart.

Nobody in this thread has yet mentioned using a split bike seat to
relieve pressure on the prostate. If you aren't using a special seat,
you should ask at a bicycle dealer or look up seats in the ads in
bicycle magazines.
