Well, it has been 10 wks now since my second PVP and I was going to share my
progress. As in my first PVP, I experienced problems voiding unless I took
Flomax. I went back to visit Dr. Lin and he did the urethal dilatation on me.
I have probably passed 30 blood clots since this procedure and passed
probably 6-10 before the procedure. They still have not subsided. I continued
on the Flomax until my urine is free of all the debris. I have had much more
debris from this second PVP as opposed to the first.

I am having a somewhat unusual problem that I never encountered with my first
PVP and I cannot find any post concerning this and was wondering if any of
you have had a problem such as this. About the time I am finished with my
urine flow, I am getting a lot of discomfort in my anus although it leaves
shortly thereafter. If anyone has experienced this problem, I would like to
know what they found out about it. Dr. Sancha, if you know anything about
this particular problem, I would like your imput.

I guess I will know more about the success of the second PVP after 12 weeks
post PVP and I will keep you informed.

Possibly facing another PVP on the bladder neck, I would appreciate
hearing about the circumstances leading to you second PVP if you would
feel free to share.

The second PVP was required because the first never helped. Still have urine
flow problems. Can't really tell how I am doing right now with the flow
because I am still on Flomax. Supposed to discontinue taking it at 12 wks
post PVP and I will report. Thanks for all the posts on my topic. I was
beginning to think I was the only one with this unusual topic.

Meant to say I was still having urine flow problems from the first PVP which
is what led to the second PVP. Sorry for the mis-type.

"browe"...I thought you were Buford for a minute while reading your post
(the dilatation by Dr. Lin, the clots,  and the second PVP, etc).  Do you
have a name other than "browe" :-) ...Pete

Pete,

I don't know how browe showed up and didn't notice it until after the post. I
am one and the same.

Buford..."browe" is in your ng handle.  It's been a couple of weeks since
your last post regarding the dilatation.  So I guess you still don't know if
the dilatation helped (remember that was my main question), because you are
still on the flomax.  I don't see how you will ever know if the second PVP
(and the subsequent dilatation) helped unless you get off the damn
flomax...Pete

Pete,

The doctor wants me to quit taking the Flomax at the end of the month and see
what happens. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks for asking.

Hello, Browe:  You are definitely onto something.   There is definitely a
relationship between prostate and what feels like pain in the anus.   I had
lots of occurrences of such pain UNTIL I had my PVP.  Minutes after PVP, the
pain disappeared.  Can't put my finger on why, (no pun intended), but the
PVP solved the pain in my butt, quite literally!!     :-)     This is the
opposite of your situation, so, I'm thinking the health of the prostate may
be in question.   Hopefully, some doctors will be reading this newsgroup and
can offer some opinions or can use this newsgroup for some future-oriented
prostate research.   Lots of good topics being posted lately.   All the
best.

Browe...I read what "spread" said.  I could have commented on the fact that
prostatitis of various kinds (bacterial, non bacterial, chronic forms of the
first two, etc) can cause all kinds of perineal pain, back pain, etc, but I
did not want to get into another one of my tirades, regarding prostatitis
versus BPH and the possible crossover between the two....Pete

Hi...

I just returned from my URO appt.  I had a TUMT July 2, 04, followed by
a PVP Feb 23, 05.  Flow has been dimishing since Christmas 05.  Flow
test today was max flow 10.6 ml/sec for 450 ml. Great difficulty
straining to start and maintain flow. URO was going to do cysto to see
what the problem is but had to leave early due to the death of a family
member.  So now I am scheduled for cysto and possible dilation on March
23.  I would be interested in any information you could provide about
the urethral dilation process since that appears to be where I am
heading.  Thanks.

Chockman,

I responded to your question on your other post. Hope it helps to make a
decision but as for me, sedation is the way to go.
