I keep an eye on this newsgroup and on this guy's blog. You guys are a
great source of info. However, on this guy's blog he has something this
newsgroup has not yet discussed. After PVP he raises attention to what he
calls a "leaky faucet".

Granted, even he admists it is a small price to pay. Nonetheless, I'd like
to know the extent of this "annoyance"-- as he calls it. Have other
PVP-ers in this newsgroup experienced this? Any doctors reding this can
explain more? Any literature supporting what he is talking about...he is
describing something different than incontinence?

Hi Bong,
I can't answer your question, but what he says raises another question.
(Forgive me for digressing here.) He clearly implies that he was awake
during his PVP operation:
"I clearly recall that towards the very end of the PVP operation, one
of the last steps the surgeon did was to slide the laser--the
probe--into the bladder. I clearly recall the sensation was like a
sudden overwhelming urge to urinate, as though I had a super extended
bladder. I made him pull the device out of the urinary channel each
time...and each time when he went back in, it was the same feeling. He
definitely was burning through the muscle of the bladder neck, in my
opinion. He he did this three times."
This astonishes me. I thought all patients were either put under
general anesthetic, or at the very least a local. As one who may have
a PVP soon, I'm concerned. Are patients, or at least some patients,
conscious of pain during the procedure? I haven't been aware of guys
talking about this.

I seem to recall reading this guy also taking a local, I'm pretty sure, and
that statement would be someplace on his blog. I tried to find it for you
but after clicking each of the top 2 of the "Archive" links on his blog my
browser stopped working on his site. I thought it was my browser but I'm
pretty sure it was his site that stopped working since my browser works just
fine on any other web site. You may want to pick up where I left off...try
the archives. I already did the top two archive links and it wasn't on
those two. Sorry. And htis guy does not take any comments so I can'd
contact him. Wishing you luck. Good question you asked.

Before PVP in Dec 2003 I had my share of leaks both before and after
peeing, but since that day I have not leaked a drop, can hold as long as
I need to and then start and stop instantly.
