Has anyone heard of or used this device. It is a small heater probe that is
put in the rectum to heat the prostate for relief of BPH.

It is supposedly pending FDA approval.

LM...I googled it and it costs too much compared to the risk of it not
helping.  I have serious perineal pain and discomfort (including hemorrhoids
along with prostatitis/urethritis) and I don't doubt the heat would provide
a *temporary relief* for pain and the increased blood flow may even help bph
patients.  I practically live with a heating pad on my belly and soak all
the time.

I would consider trying one of these (but not for 300-400 dollars), and I
doubt it would provide a cure for anything.  My understanding is heat
provides temporary relief for various conditions but does not cure them or
make them go away permanently.  This certainly applies to BPH [I don't think
its going to shrink your prostate :-)], as well as applying heat to a
herniated disc that is pinching a nerve is not going to get rid of back pain
either...Pete
