What do you know about using ethanol injections for BPH? Local TV had a
story about shrinking prostate enough to decrease night time trips to
the bathroom.

Aner:  great contribution to this newsgroup.   Thank you.

Your post was the first I heard of this.  I then Googled: "ethanol
injections bph" and found a ton of information going all the way back to
1999 when it was declared a new procedure.   This link is very informative
including some great before/after picures of the prostate...

Keep up the good work. Thank you.

Aner... I too (like Spread), immediately googled "alcohol injection BPH" and
got 965 hits.  If you haven't googled it please do.  It's good info to know
about.  Thanks for the heads up...Pete

The experience with ethanol injections is small, and there are severe
complications reported with it. one patient had his bladder removed
after the procedure, due to bladder wall necrosis. There are other
options that are much more reliable. Search pubmed and you will find
abstracts of publications in medical journals, that are more
trustworthy than news. All the best,
