PSA level after TURP

Does the PSA reading after having a TURP drop and if so, what are the the
new levels that become "danger signs"?

Prior to having a TURP in 98, my PSA gradually over a period of several
years went from 4 to 17. After surgery it immediately dropped back to 4
and has remained there ever since. My PSA has never been much lower than 4.
My uro said that it was fairly common to have elevated PSA with bph.

Thanks. I overheard discussion that some readings fall to less than 1 after
having the procedure and I assumed that was because some of the gland had
been removed therefore less psa would be present but still there might be a
"danger" level.

It's important to monitor the change in psa no matter what the
situation.
The rise or change in psa is probably more important than the level of
psa.
