Blood in Semen

Hi All,

I've had blood in the semen for about 8 months now.  The semen is sometimes
red, other times brown.  Went to the urologist several times, he finds no
blood in the urine. PSA is 1.7, I'm a 47 y/o white male, maybe about 20
lbs. overweight.  The urologist found no enlargement of the prostate by
digital exam.

The doctor put me on Cipro, the blood goes away for several weeks, then
comes back.  No problems with urination, or sleeping throught the night. No
blood in the pre-ejaculate.

The doctor told me to cut out caffeine, which I did.  He didn't say
anything about alcohol, though I'm sure it dooesn't help.

No pain, just scared as hell when I find the blood.  I had this problem 25
years ago, it went away with 1 course of antibiotics.

I walk 4 mailes daily for exercise, could this be causing the problem ?

Thanks,
Mel

Walking won't cause the problem.   Something else will.   If you urologist
has not found anything, try another urologist.   It strike me as peculiar.
Either you have prostatitis or you have something else well worth looking
into.   Don't wait.   There should NOT be ANY blood in your semen.   But
don't take no for an answer.   I found the urologists really have to be
pushed hard to get them to do anything beyond the "norm".   Wishing you the
very best.

I agree. I saw three urologists before I found the right one. Part of
the problem is your age. I was your age when I first noticed problems
and according to their protocol, you are just too young to have
serious problems. Because of that, your current uro is ignoring your
symptoms.

Keep us informed and good luck.

Mike
